The public reaction, however, has proven more critical. Some commentators have suggested Pantone of being completely "tone-deaf." Trend analyst Mandy Lee called it "a let-down." Others have likened it to subtle advocacy of problematic concepts seen in popular culture.

I see, one would hope they're happily ignorant that now is a sensitive time to be pointedly celebrating the color white... Therefore, how can a regular person rarely near a runway use this trend in everyday routine? I just painted my ceiling with white, does that count?
