Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday night. The fighter was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.
Healing from Light Wounds
The boxer had been under observation while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.
“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
Honoring the Deceased
Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
His release from the hospital follows the global fight fans had expressed condolences for the fighter in the aftermath of the heartbreaking incident.
