Plane Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Fracture in Cockpit Window
A plane carrying Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday due to a fissure was found in the aircraft's cockpit window, according to an official statement which confirmed that Hegseth was safe.
"The aircraft landed following standard procedures and all individuals on the flight, including Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," an official representative stated in a online announcement.
Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to the Belgian capital at the time.
This occurrence isn't the first time that a US military aircraft carrying a high-ranking official has experienced equipment failures.
In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane transporting Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Munich was compelled to head back to Washington DC after suffering a mechanical problem.
