Over a fortnight following the shocking loss of esteemed film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones are still paying respects to the couple.

Writing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he only now felt prepared to post publicly about his personal sorrow.

"Sufficient time has passed that I can finally articulate my loss into words," posted Elwes, adding that his introductory moment with Reiner created an instant bond. "When we commenced passing more hours together I realized this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor uploaded archival material from the film, remarking that he could not remember "any day without joy".

"The movie is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Principles that Rob held dear. That is part of the many reasons he was the best person to helm it," Elwes wrote.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, stating: "To say that they were a great team would be an understatement. My heart still aches every time I remember you." He concluded with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Friend and Collaborator

In a distinct tribute, revered director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved being with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was very funny and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the protagonist.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked seamlessly with his co-stars, and he comprehended the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese added.

Recently, a Los Angeles judge ruled to prevent the publication of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, following a petition from the local authorities.

A legal directive placed a restriction on the investigation to limit the public release of "all case details, documents, files or images" pertaining to the ongoing investigation.

The relevant authority had earlier stated their deaths were the outcome of homicide, with a record listing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Rogan ended by remarking that an adviser ought to have acted when the choice to comment on the death was made.
